**Version:** pi-v1.0
**Locale:** en
**Effective Date:** 2026-05-02
This policy applies to all shipments purchased or managed through BOXMEX.
If an item is prohibited by law, carrier rules, customs practice, or this policy, the shipment must not be tendered.
## Always prohibited
- Firearms, ammunition, weapon parts, suppressors, and explosives.
- Illegal drugs, controlled substances without lawful documentation, and drug paraphernalia intended for illegal use.
- Cash, bearer instruments, counterfeit goods, and stolen property.
- Human remains, organs, blood products, and biohazardous medical waste.
- Hazardous materials that are undeclared, mislabeled, or not accepted by the selected carrier.
## Restricted (allowed only when lawfully documented and accepted by the selected carrier)
- Lithium batteries and battery-powered devices (must meet packaging and declaration rules).
- Alcohol, tobacco, vaping products, and nicotine products.
- Prescription medicines, supplements, cosmetics, and health products.
- Perishables and temperature-sensitive products.

- Currency-equivalent cards or financial instruments with fraud risk.
## Export/import compliance and customer responsibility
You are responsible for accurate declarations, lawful classification, and all import/export compliance obligations for U.S.-to-Mexico shipments, including customs documentation, duties, taxes, and permits.
BOXMEX and downstream providers may reject, hold, return, abandon, or destroy non-compliant shipments where permitted by law or carrier terms. Any resulting fees remain your responsibility.
## Screening and enforcement
BOXMEX may run sanctions and risk screening before or after order creation.
A shipment may be placed on compliance hold when risk signals, sanctions matches, customs restrictions, or prohibited-item indicators are detected.
## Policy updates
Policy versions are immutable once published. If policy text changes, BOXMEX publishes a new version with a new content hash and effective date.
By acknowledging this policy during checkout, you confirm that your shipment does not include prohibited items and that you accept these restrictions.
